When I have been down and out, many people have consoled me saying "Whatever happens, happens for a reason". I have done the same to others at times. I have heard this in Asia, am not sure this is a equally valid saying in US.
Looking back at the last couple of presidential elections, I see this saying to apply (at least to the people looking through my biased filters).
Knowing what you know now about these people, don't you think that it was nice these people lost.
- John "Bush can do no wrong" McCain
- Robert "Self Inflicted Wound" Dole
- Joe "Republican" Lieberman
- George "Lost Florida" W Bush
It is interesting how a person's character evolves over time. Who could have predicted McCain whoring himself for Bush? Who could have predicted Dole smearing a fellow veteran (from a diff war maybe)? Who could have predicted Joe Lieberman being more royal than the king when defending republican agenda? And George only got in because of a coup by the Supremes.
The voters do make decent decisions, and I think they will do it this time too. If the need is to rebuff rethug politics, they will do so convincingly.
